Laboratory color measurement 

The laboratory color measurement is performed in the automatic test line of MRP-Schnettler with the device MRP-ST LAB COL 2015. The color of paper and cardboard is an important quality parameter. MRP-Schnettler offers a colorimeter for precise measurement of color, brightness, opacity, yellowing and whiteness of pulp, paper and board webs for paper production.

The color measurement integrated in the automatic test line is characterized by the following features:

• Dual beam method with UV filter for evaluating the UV components

Physical principle

For color measurement, a spectrophotometer is used, which is in perfect accordance with the ISO standards ISO 2469 and ISO 2470 commonly used in the pulp and paper industry. it has a d:0° measuring geometry (diffuse illumination:0° observation) with gloss exclusion (SCE) and a fixed 30mm measuring aperture as prescribed in the ISO paper standards 2469 and 2470.
