QCS Systems

The MRP quality control system MRP QLS 2003 was specifically developed for the paper industry. It is characterised by its compact design, the predominant use of standard components and a modern software architecture.

The system is designed for the collection and presentation of the various parameters that are required for the optimal operation of a paper, cardboard and coating machine.

The various MRP sensors are capable of determining parameters such as grammage, filler, coat weight, moisture, thickness, colour, gloss, formation or porosity for various paper and cardboard types.

The MRP quality control system MRP QLS 2003 consists of one or more sensors and traversing frames, which are coupled with one or more computers via Ethernet or Profibus.

  • Windows 7 or Windows 10 operating system

Modernizations

Many measuring frames made by renowned domestic and foreign suppliers are installed in Germany.
For some of them, MRP applied its modernisation concept. Thus, MRPcustomers again benefit from a modern, future-proof quality control system with state-of-the-art technology.
The proven Lippke measuring frames and sensors are maintained whereas the interface electronics, com-puters and software are replaced by MRP developed components.
The purchase of a new quality control system usually requires insignificant investments, however the ROI of such investment can usually not be achieved within one year. On the other hand, a replacement of exist-ing systems becomes necessary time and time again. Be it that existing systems become unreliable, the procurement of spare parts is becoming increasingly difficult or it is just difficult to integrate modern exten-sions. In addition to new systems, MRP also offers retrofits for existing quality control systems. From a fi-nancial point of view but also in terms of quality and productivity, retrofits offer an interesting alternative.
A retrofit of existing quality management systems equips MRP customers again with a modern, future-proof quality control system consisting of state-of-the-art technology. The proven measuring frames and sensors are maintained whereas the interface electronics, computers and software are replaced by MRP developed components. Renowned paper and cardboard manufacturers such as Buchmann Karton, FS Karton Neuss, Papierfabrik Schoellershammer, BASF SE, MM Karton or Papierfabrik August Koehler SE successfully use our modern-isation concepts.
Just ask us or directly contact our customers, who will gladly explain the benefits of MRP Retrofits to you.

Traversing Units

The MRP scanner for traversing measuring is designed as a torsional stiff welded steel construction with raceway shaft guide on precision shafts. This robust and durable design ensures problem-free operation in the demanding environment of a paper mill. Depending on their requirements, operators can choose from various measuring frame variants.

Characteristics / Features

The measuring frame can be rotatably hung up. The mounting is performed by using frontal spigots. The spigots with their shell carriers act as transfer point. The stators and all possibly related concrete chiselling works are not included in the scope of the MRP delivery.

  • Guide rails (O1 and O2) or hardened chrome plated steel round shafts with a diameter of 40 mm, mounted on adjustable bridges every 240mm for O1 and O2 or every 400 mm for O3.
  • Three-phase motor 0.25 KW; Standard motor with hollow shaft. Control via Siemens frequency con-verter
  • Standard incremental encoder as position encoder with Profibus interface. The resolution of the ro-tary encoder is 0.075 mm
  • Adaptation to paper web angle by rotating the measuring trolley or the frame
  • Fibreglass-reinforced, non-stretchable toothed belt
  • Ratchetting clutches for separating the upper from the lower measuring system platform and for the purpose of anti-crushing protection.
  • Measuring slide as recirculating ball bearing carriage (O1 and O2), or as a double T-beam guided across 24 ball bearings.
  • Long-lasting energy is supplied through synthetic multi-chamber link chains with shielded round ca-bles and air/water hoses
  • Dust cover for O2 and O3 by means of a continuously driven masking tape made of woven synthet-ic.
  • A powder coating surface treatment is optionally available.
  • Internally ventilated variants are optionally available.
  • Innenbelüftete Varianten optional erhältlich.
  • Measuring system boards for multiple sensors
  • Fan housing including temperature measuring mounted on the measuring system board.
  • Automated web edge detection
